Location: Southwest, St. George’s Parish, Grand Anse

Grenada’s most popular beach. Lined with almond trees, this 3 kilometer beach features spectacular resorts and great restaurants.

Do some snorkeling, scuba diving, or just grab some rum and chill on the beach. It has everything from luxurious resorts to cool little beach bars.


La Sagesse Beach

La Sagesse

Location: Southeast, St. David’s Parish

One of the most romantic places in the Caribbean, this hidden crescent shaped beach has calm waters and soft white sand.

Near the lush tropical gardens of the The La Sagesse Nature Centre, it’s also a famous spot for bird watching on the island.

 


Mourne Rouge Beach

Location: Southwest, St. George’s Parish

Also known as BBC Beach, this is a nice quiet beach that is perfect for families. The waters are shallow and calm, and there is even a fun playground nearby.

It’s a bit quieter than the other beaches, but it does have a few nice resorts and restaurants.

With it’s almost pink sands and palm trees, this beach is another hidden gem on the island.

With a coral reef right off shore, it’s great for snorkeling. It also has the famous Aquarium restaurant and some great resorts.

Warm, nutty and a bit sweet. Nutmeg is Grenada’s most popular crop, and you can find nutmeg flavored everything from syrup to ice cream.

Cocoa trees are abundant in Grenada. Cocoa balls are steeped in hot water with sweetened milk and sugar to make an amazing drink.

Grenada grows some of the best chocolate in the world. Rich, dark, strong and flavorful.

Ah yes the rum! Grenada has been known for it’s rum since the days of the Pirates. They also have a bunch of awesome distillerys you can visit.

Major Airport: (GND) Maurice Bishop International Airport in St. George’s
Cruise Terminal: Melville Street Cruise Terminal in downtown St. George’s
Currency: (EC$) Eastern Caribbean Dollar although many places take American dollars.
Electrical sockets: Three-pin, square UK-standard (Some hotels have US or European two-pin)
Passport: You will need a valid passport to enter Grenada. A visa is not required for stays up to 90 days.

Favorite Coffee: Hot Cocoa Tea with nutmeg and cinnamon. Most of my friends from the US and Europe, Caribbeans usually drink it in the morning.
Best thing about Grenada: The people, the beaches the chocolate. I’ve been to Switzerland and France, I might be biased but I believe Grenada has the best chocolate in the world.
Favorite Local Cafe: Spice Isle Coffee. They have everything! Best coffee in the Caribbean.
Cool Places to See: Grand Etang National Park. So many trails and swimming holes. I’m an amateur wildlife photographer so I love that place.
